G'day,

I have decided to buy a new computer and it's going to be a Surface Pro 4. I have spoken with a mate of mine here who is pretty
cluey with computers and he reckons that this model will be more than I ever need considering what I do with my computer:

Tiny URL: http://tinyurl.com/zxf6fs3

Full URL:

FYI $1,999 AUD = $1,409 USD.

I'll buy it from the Microsoft store here in Sydney unless it's WAY cheaper in the USA. The main reason to buy it here is if I have
problems or need help I can walk into the Microsoft store here and say FIX IT!

I'd like comments from anyone that has any model of the Surface Pro.

Thanks,
Rob M.

Rob,

I do not have a Surface, but heard good things about the latest pro
models. One thing that I would *always* want to have is: Build in WWAN,
i.e. build-in UMTS or LTE. It is SO nice to have access to the net where
ever you go without the need to peer it to a mobile phone (and draining
the mobiles battery), that it became one of my major criteria in
selecting a mobile computer.

I know that Surface Pro do exist with LTE.

Rob, I have the Surface Pro. I'm using now. It works very well. Get the keyboard. I did buy two additional attachments from the "heathen Chinese" to allow other devices to be used, basically additional USB ports for those devices for almost everything. I'm sure that there are special devices that need a desktop, but most us do not use them. Your Aussie store will honor your US purchase and help you.
Do not forget where you put the stylus for safe keeping. I have not seen the Surface with 4G LTE built in. I purchased mine in Sept so there might be some changes. LTE would make it a very big deal, and large phone.

You won't be happy without a keyboard. Lenovo builds the Surface for Microsoft. Their Yoga 900 is what I'd buy right now since it
has everything that the Surface does and includes that keyboard.
http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/lenovo/yoga-laptop-series/yoga-900-13/

I am on a Yoga 3 right now and absolutely love it. It's light as a feather, has great battery life, ... well, read the specs and
reviews. Less than the Surface with even more features. It's a no brainer AFAIK.

Here's a great buy on one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lenovo-Yoga-900-13-3-2-in-1-Touch-Screen-Laptop-Intel-Core-i7-16GB-Mem-512GB-/191792777291?hash=item2ca7bd88
4b:g:M6wAAOSwX~dWp~kT

I originally bought a Yoga 2 and after sending it in for warranty issues 3 times they gave me this Yoga3 and renewed the warranty.
They finally got it right because I've had zero issues with this one. Their warranty work is ultra fast via FedEx next day. I was
amazed at how fast it was and surprized at thier offer to just replace it with the next newer model. (Dang! I wish I could now do
it for the 900)

Just my take on the overpriced Surface that you'd immediately have to buy accessories for.

i assisted on buying two for our owner and vp when company was bought out for then to use as personal computers. They were pro 3 model. They keyboard i think is needed and we bought the higher model at $2000 us each.

Both are happy and work well, and they are not computer savvy people. It takes me a couple extra minutes to do things because i am not used to windows 10. I did install office 2013, and that made things easier. Not used to office 365 yet.

That wAs august.

Enough major differences between the Lenovo Yoga 900 and the Microsoft Surface Pro to almost require that you do a spreadsheet to help with the choice. Looking at the linked references, the prices are very close.

I have a $300 Toshiba laptop that my CFO got on sale for $279. If you have a lot of extra dollars that you are trying to dispose of, consider buying me a drum brake reaction arm system from Jim K. I can email you the shipping address.

I really love the backlit keyboard.
8gb RAM. I haven't been able to slow it down
Headphone/Microphone port, 2 USB, SD card slot, HDMI port, 13" screen, ...

I went into Best Buy 14 months ago fully intending to walk out with a
Surface Pro but the Yoga made much more sense to me and I didn't have to buy
a keyboard! :-)

Of course, your mileage may vary. I haven't looked at the Surface 4.

Good luck with your decision

Nothing wrong with that. See if your accountant can maintain that level of support and find a different area where you are oversubscribed and I will send you that shipping address.
