I am going through the plumbing on my Eleganza, had a few leaks in bathroom ,,, figured out how to take cabinets out to get behind to the plumbing and got all leaks fixed in that area also replacing the toilet, that so far hasn't been an issue.
My problem is there is a leak,,, coming from above the holding tank ? Don't think it's the tank because it is pretty much empty and as soon as you run water you can see water / leak start from above the holding tank ? How do you get to that area ? Do you have to drop the tank of is there an access panel above ? I see the cabin ?
Any input would be appreciated !!! Right now I'm kinda stuck ?!
Thanks

Sounds like tank inlet pipes cracked or loose. Help if we knew year and
model. Upfitters all did it differently, and different tanks were used.

It had the side bath ( rh side ) two bench seats in the rear,, I just removed both bench seats ( flex steal ) and built a permanent bed. Hind sight should have checked all systems first !
Also if anyone wants two rear bench seats there welcome two them, in good shape .

It's a 1978 Eleganza II, Seems like what your saying makes sense because tank is empty and leak starts pretty much right after the water comes on, maybe one minute !?
Just can't see how you would get to it ? Or that area ?
Thanks

Drop the tank. Something up there needs fixed. Only access I know without
removing cabinets or opening holes in side of coach. Not good news, but
good time to fix it. If you are still using original tank, look it over
very well. It should be quite brittle by now. Ademco company has near
replacements, as does Jim K. Applied GMC.

Just below the bath door is a removable panel which allows access to the shower floor drain line. There is also a sump in the floor on your model.
You may end up dropping the tank -- but it's worth looking under the shower first.
My 73 coach is different but here are a couple of photos.

Brian,
The tank has 3 inlets on top, 2 are vent/drain (slip seal) and 1 toilet dump (threaded into tank).
Vent/drain location are under closet with access cover, and at back wall of shower module.
One or both have slipped out. There's a seal nut ring accessible from top side, to tighten seal when
tube is in place.
When I redone the drains I noticed the tank top was not tight to the floor and also the insert tube
about an inch short.

Brian,
The most common leak point for the Eleganza II is the line that goes from your sink and the roof vent. It enters the black tank on top and the location is hidden by a plastic cover in the bottom section. left side of your where your converter/charger is located at. There is a rubber gasket and tightening ring that most likely has failed and has pulled out from the top of the black tank. Emory Stora did a photo album on how to fix it with measurements and materials list. I have the same problem on our Eleganza II also. I have not been able to find it in the photo archive, but I am sure he will post it when he sees your issue.

JR sent you the link for my writeup on the kitchen sink drain. That is often a source of leakage.
Here is another writup for the slip fit of the bathroom sink and shower drain into the holding tank.
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/g4986-holding-tank-top-fitting.html
Let me know if you need any more info.
You should consider putting your GMC model and your location into your email signature as it will help people trying to answer you.
Different models sometimes have different setups. Your location might actually get someone near you to show up to help you.

"My problem is there is a leak,,, coming from above the holding tank ? Don't think it's the tank because it is pretty much empty and as soon as you run water you can see water / leak start from above the holding tank ?
Thanks
Brian"
I talked with Brian by phone the other day. I recommended he do some trouble shooting. Empty black tank (has never emptied it since acquiring coach) Turn on water pump and see if it comes up to pressure then stops. If it continues to run check under coach for leaks. If and when pump stops then run some water in each drain checking under coach between running to drain. Report the results back to the list.
