Working on the Mouse House in the shop last night. I noticed that the wheel covers were wired to the rims. You just have to give some credit to someone for thinking of that idea. Or they just could have bent the tabs out on the wheel cover. Maybe we're here to just humor God. Ya just gotta love our creativity. ( GRIN )Bob Dunahugh

I have seen both wire and zip ties holding the OEM full wheel covers on. Bending tabs is easier.

When I still had original covers, they wouldn't stay on no matter what I did with the tabs. Wire ties do the job but the ultimate solution is aluminum wheels at some point.

Years ago I rented a car during a vacation to Ireland. Since most roads are
approximately 1/2 lane wide with shrubs on both sides I lost a front right
hubcap. Rather than paying Avis's replacement price I stopped by a dealer
during the trip and bought one.

When I returned the car, the check-in person looked very puzzled to see a
hubcap on that tire. Stared at it for a while before closing out the rental.

Turns out that 3 of the hubcaps were tie-wrapped on, but the one most likely
to have a brush with a brush was not. A large stack of replacement hubcaps
near the door spoke to what was I'm sure a lucrative additional revenue
stream.

I have had one original go awol when I was running 16.5 rims on the rear. I have had about 3-4 aftermarket wheel simulators go missing. I am upset the original do not fit my 16" steel rims, so I now have matching hubcaps on my passenger side. Driver side there are no hub caps.

I am pretty sure I am going to go have my front dodge aluminum rims plastic dipped black to match my rear steel black rims. Hub caps make it really difficult to check tire pressure. Probably why I never did wire or zip tie them on. I really need to start collecting some eagles for the 4 rear.
