This is directly from his site - hope this works for you.
I am looking to cut down additional holes in roof when adding a roof Travel Satellite and WIFI antenna through OE TV antenna crank hole. Or could possibly add a WIFI antenna attached to the rear ladder for support. Any thoughts and applications would be appreciated!
You are such a tremendous data base for new GMC owners like myself (September 2015). Certainly pleased to have discovered this community. Much better than googling the net and reading lots of ‘crackpot’ ideas.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO THE GMC NETWORK members.
Thank you for your warm welcome.

Mounted a 5db omnidirectional antenna pn top of the large cabinet. Here it is easy to get to the internal roof. The router is in the cabinet where 12 volts is available. Driled a fitting hole with a flat dril, that worked realy well. The antenna is selvsealing
Omnidirectional antennas are simple you do not have to adjust them. That is also there weakness. They reach out in every durecton, but not so far.
A directionsl antennae would be better, but is much more complicated to install

The thing to remember on WiFi antennae is at this frequency (2.4 gig or 5 gig) "line of sight" to the transmitter (access Point) is required. Yes, in some cases you can use a reflected signal off of some near by structure but I would not count on it working most of the time. I actually have one installation that utilizes this bounce off of a near by steel hangar because he has no clear line of site to the main access point. The directional antenna is actually pointed East while the access point is really West.
Our GMCs are lower than most other RVs so height above the coach is a major issue. When mounting an antenna on a GMC, vertical clearance over adjacent obstacles (usually other coaches) is the first issue to contend with. After that issue is solved then you can start looking to see if you want to utilize a slightly higher gain directional antenna. When you go to a directional antenna you must also allow for some method to turn the antenna toward the access point transmitter whose direction will change every time you park somewhere new.
I suggest that omni-directional antenna mounted on top of the crank up TV antenna is a reasonable compromise considering the above issues. I do have a second portable directional antenna that I occasionally use when LOS is not an issue and I'm trying to get extended range.
