Here's an interesting power plant. It's supposed to be an easy swap with the 6.5.

That's a hell of a specific output for a diesel. I wonder about the length, it's an inline 6. And you'd need to put an intercooler someplace. Maybe beside it?

The article I read stated it was practically a bolt in for the 6.5. A charge air cooler could be mounted most anywhere if you went liquid to air. Wish there were more specific dimensions available. But, it would need to be available too.

It would be nice to see if the crank throw would not interfere with the shaft that has to go through the oil pan.

Gary,

Dave Lenzi put a 8.1 Vortec engine in his GMC told me that the "moment of truth" came after he had made up an adaptor to fit the
TH-425 to it, bolted a transmission to that adapter and a final drive to the transmission, and ran the passenger side axle extension
into the final drive and it CLEARED! I can't remember how much but it was very small!

Well AM General is claiming 94HP/Liter. I remember when 61HP/Liter for a mass produced engine was the Holy Grail (1hp.cu in), although there was a lot of fudging going on. Some years back at a Mopar meet at the dragstrip in Commerce, Tom Hoover took questions and somebody asked him about the 426CID/425HP engines and he grinned and said it was accurate. Somewhere around 3200 RPM. Someone else asked and he said they normally would produce 510 - 515HP in stock trim. Having had one, I'd believe him. But, 94 per liter even for a turbocharged Diesel is really excellent output.
