I got KYB. I do not remember the numbers out of my head , but they were as recommended front and rear. They fit right on. The Caspros I took of did not fit.

Kyboutlet.com has them at a very reasonable price

I'm surprised that it made that much difference.
The Caspro shocks were very beefy in every way except workmanship must been
lacking.

I do not know how old the caspos were, but I could compress them easely between my hands. So not much damping left

That's pretty much standard for Caspro shocks IMHO. I took off a set with
about 20k miles. Same way, looked good, did nothing.

I aquired some new Caspro shocks several years ago and ended up eating
warranty as Stodard would not do anything about the defects.

That’s a serious smack-down.

I guess I won’t look at his steering box, then.

Rob,
Chuck used to be a large vendor at all the GMCMI rallies until about 2002 or 2003. He sold engines, transmissions, final drives, Wallace style front hubs that were made by Buskirk as well as shocks and other stuff. I have one of his brochures at home that I can have put on Billy M site in April, but if someone else has one on hand send a PDF version to Billy to get it post for history.

Dolph,
I would suggest that you get a Dave Lenzi Steering box as it will be correct out of the box. I think that Jim K carries them and you can also get it direct from Dave.

I've got some of those catalogs around here someplace. Guess I should put
one up for nostlagia now. He was still in business back when I done most of
that work.

No need to send it unless you want to do the scanning for me. ;-)

Manny acquired some of his parts.
He did not buy him out.
Suggest we leave these type of vendors off the sights as people will order
from them.

Jim,

Sorry I disagree, how are people supposed to know a vendor sucks if no one publishes that they do?

I was a perfect example of that, I'm reasonably familiar ;-) with the GMC scene and I didn't know who Chuck was or that Manny didn't
buy out his shock business!
