Hi Johnny,
I don’t know about the HEI distributor and their spark control. The techs I talked with said it was fine to just use a properly curved HEI distributor that has vacuum advance. That is what the two techs I talked to were doing on their own vehicles. I think the confusion on fitting on a Qjet manifold is that the throttle body will bolt directly to a Qjet manifold that has the open center section as many apparently do, but it does require an adapter about 1/2 inch thick if the manifold has individual holes for each Qjet throttle butterfly as was the case with my manifold on the Clasco.

FiTech says it doesn't play to an HEI, but in emails have noted how one might work around it. Since there's no knock sensor, I have to wonder how
much benefit a spark control would give over a properly curved (Patterson) distributor. They also say it fits a Q-jet manifold, although in the email
they aren't clear as to whether an adaptor is necessary or not. The CEO and employees have fairly good c/v/s on their web site.
