A rebuilt carb is around $400 on JimK’s site if you have a MH carb core that is good so the choice is yours to make. So far, I am very impressed by the benefits of the self learning EFI but opinions will vary as you know between the various brands of self learning EFI, the various brands of the roll your own tables type EFI or a properly functioning Qjet. Any of those choices would be far better than a non-functioning Qjet carb from my POV!

Thank you kindly, Jerry.

Since I have a basically non-functioning carburetor, going whole hog for F.I. might make more sense.
