I have to raise/install the driver's side seat an inch and a half above the generator compartment to clear the wheel well and I have to raise the passenger side the same amount.

How high was the original step in a Palm Beach rear dinette?

Wait a minute. What step are you askin about Mark? Back between the
generater and water tank boxes is a 2" rise in the floor. The steps up
front are 8" I believe.

I was asking about the one between the generator and water tank boxes.

How high is it from the seat to the floor? I measured a kitchen chair and it is 19" from the floor to the seat. I have the passenger side installed and it is 26" from the floor to the seat. I am 6'2" and my feet won't touch the floor right now. I am thinking it is going to take a step at least 6" to approximate kitchen chair height.

That's totally different from the Palm Beach. It's only a 2" rise in the
floor. There is no step. My oem seats are in the storage shed so I can't
get you that measurement. Just use your best judgement. Like you, I'd
probably shoot for the same as any kitchen chair.
