I've got a couple of things I need help with; this is #1:

A local GMCer has his coach gutted and has moved the bath module several
inches forward. He's accumulated all the necessary plumbing bits need to
complete the job, except for one item, which I've promised to find: He
needs

Home Depot carries a lot of "trailer" related items for mobile homes. GM
used a lot of that material in GMCs. Sammy

No 1-1/4" pipe, ABS or PVC, at our local Lowes and we don't have a Home
Depot. There is a HD 37 miles away; I'll suggest he check there.

When I did my drains in 1 1/4 pvc, I did NOT glue things together. Makes it to hard if you need to alter things later. Instead I cut and put things togeather without the glue and used a screw type hose clamp around the joint to seal it. No leaks and easy to take apart if needed. Also, under the sinks, the traps take up a lot of space that could be used for storage. So, I used a simple 90* elbow at the drain, used pvc to get the drain to the back wall and put the trap against the wall....opening up that space under the drain. JFWIW

Ken,

I live in a town, with a home depot, and a few other home improvement stores. ABS is tricky to find, and i do not think that Home depot carries much of it, if at all if I remember correctly. I would call there before driving to a Home Depot.

Menards has some ABS, and Fleet Farm locally. But my best location in our town, was our larger hardware store that carries everything. another source was a habitat for humanity "Restore"

otherwise sad to day, the internet is going to run more brick and motor stores out, but when you can actually get what you need, without chasing all over the countryside trying:

He shouldn't have to use white. My local Home Depot sells 1-1/4" black. In fact they even sell short pieces such as 2', 3' and 4'.

Check the home depot website....

I just did, and it clearly shows that ABS pipe is not sold in my local St. Cloud store. (zero inventory). But it shows that down in the cities about 50 miles away, they have plenty at that store.

Home depot website did not show ABS as inventoried within 100 miles of americus.

Some local Ace hardware stores still carry ABS pipe & fittings, but 1-1/2" is the smallest.

Steve just beat me to it (above) but I was going to suggest an RV or mobile home supply store. That said, when I redid my kitchen sink I adapted the 1-1/4" pipe to 1-1/2". Easy solution.

Ken,

Don't you know a local house plumber? They save all those leftover pieces
for
use when they just need a small piece. Or else, hit a local plumbing shop
and
make a polite request. Probably free.(good price)

Gary, et al,

The needy GMCer's business is in the same small complex as our many years
established plumber -- he has no 1-1/4" ABS nor PVC.

Add to that the fact that Lowes ran our sole remaining hardware store out
of business 5 years ago, and the one in the next closest town 3 years ago,
and you see where we're stuck.

Sounds like there's no use in us visiting the distant Home Depot. Is it
true that this absurdity is what we're reduced to?:

Note that it's complete with automobile model verification! :-)

Still searching!

Ken,

Have you checked your Lowes for 1-1/4" PVC electrical conduit? They stock it here in Orlando - 10' for $4.33. It's gray but who cares.
If that doesn't work then PM me. I have some 1-1/4" scraps in ABS, or PVC (white or gray).
