A friend passed this on to me and I believe it is worth passing on.
If you are not a US citizen, I don't expect your score would be super high, but I suspect that some of you will do better than a lot of us who were born and "educated" here.

How well do you know your country? A very interesting test on how well you know your country. The test was designed by Bill O'Reilly and there are no trick questions. The test says you should get at least 15 to pass. I say you should get at least 20 for a passing grade. See how well you do! Country

25 out of 25. Went to a good high school. My memory isn't so good anymore, but you didn't pass Civics until you could, among other things recite the first part of the Declaration, name the Presidents in order, name the States and their Capitols, 'splain the Monroe Doctrine, and some other stuff people ought to know if they were citizens of Alabama and the U.S. Interestingly, each day the entire school took the first ten minutes of the school day and had spelling class. I mistype much more often than I misspell as a result of that. Starke University School, unfortunately now defunct. Run at the time and owned by Col Edwin R. Carter who was an Episcopal priest (Unfrocked for about twenty years, and then got his collar back), and also was Patton's Chaplain. 'Nother bit or trivia, the guy who started Bass Pro Shops was an alum, as was the President of the First National Bank, who declined to fund the Pro Shops, and later at a reunion noted, one of the duller mistakes he'd made as a banker. I used to could recite The Furniture Problem, it was required memorization, mostly as nostalgia. In the days of Professor Starke, you had to recite it on Friday at the end of First Semester, and got a whipping every week until you could.

Johnny,
You got a live one on the hook, here. Furniture Problem? Sounds like something my wife could relate to, and the Google search is no help. Please let us know what sort of problem it is.
I don't like the idea of getting whipped for not being able to recite it.
Best,
Carey

Don't be so sure about that, Mike!
I truly think you did better than most Americans would do!
I don't think I'd do very well on a Canadian test but hopefully better than most Americans!

Carey -
The Furniture Problem was a math problem in fractions. 'A lady bought a table for $45, a bookshelf for $19 and a bureau for $68. What fraction of the cost of the bureau were the shelf and table?" I'm not sure those are the articles and/or the prices, but you had to look at the fractions and recite "$19 is one fourth of $68, and $45 is 45/68th which is..." etc. It took about three paragraphs. I'll try to find a copy.

Uh no. Each as a fraction of it seperately. Done as fractions, no rounding. Anyway, I wrote the 'Fessor's grandson to see if he might have a copy of it. The values I used are for example, I'm trying to get the correct problem.
