For sure, RC! Almost as hard as asking someone to estimate “board feet” while looking at a pile of raw lumber…..

Just had a thought that this might mean roof slope, i.e., 5 foot rise per 4 foot horizontal. I really thought though, that was normally given as rise per foot, i.e., 4 in 12, 5 in 12, etc.

5/4 means a particular sized piece of wood (1 1/4" thick). I have used 5/4
to make up wood windows for a turn of the 20th century house;-)

I used pressure treated 5/4 to cover the rafter ends on the barn.

Rough sawn, but when finished it is only a hair over 1". Common in decking and siding.
