I've seen pictures of the frameless CR Lawrence windows on some coachs and they look good.......but what are the practical
pluses and minuses of them over a good set of original 78 windows?

No leaks
Less wind noise
Tinted windows

To be fair, the OEM windows can be rebuilt with new felt and rubber and reinstalled with the same sealant and fix most the leaks. OEM windows have a larger open area than the Tsliders or the flush mounts.

I installed Tsliders and love them. The darker tint also helps keep the coach cooler in the summer.

One thing that I would be concerned with the CR Lawrence windows over the OEM windows
is that the OEM rear side windows can be used as an emergency / fire egress so you are not
trapped in the rear without a way out. Not so sure about the CR Lawrence.

Just what I have heard, when removing the OEM windows and if your coach has been repainted in the past, some areas may show the original paint so you may have to touch up the newly exposed areas that were previously hidden by the old moldings.

The vent glass is gasket ed on all 4 sides.
So it is very quiet.
The others have one side with a fin seal that allow sound to pierce through.
It comes with a dark tint so the inside temperature will be considerably
cooler when the sun shines.
And it does looks good.
The back rear window are designed to be able to push out during emergency.

We have found that the newly exposed area is very minimal and can be
touched up.

That is so cool! So will the front half slide back, or the back half slide forward?

I noticed that on the original argosy inspiration windows, the divider is angled to
match the slant of the front. I'm guessing on those the back half slides forward,
though hard to tell for sure. On the prototype GMC window, the center divider is vertical,
so can't tell which way it will open.

It will be nice for the driver to be able to talk to people outside more easily,
and hopefully these will allow a lot more airflow.

I'm glad to see both sides will be available, since only doing one side would be a little weird looking imho.

So simple in design and functional, like the rest of the motorhome, so you have to wonder why GM did it the original way, which had to be more complex.
Gotta save up for a set of these, best and most needed improvement on these machines in 43 years. Shoulda been done that way from the start.

Karen,
The front will slide back.
The tinting is a new type that reflect the sun better so one will not feel
the heat as much.

imho the original design has the advantage of not blowing so much wind
in when open during driving. The small window is very nice that it does
let in a bit of air, but not too much. My 0.02$ :)

Tried to find out from Jim B, but he was busy at a show.
Soon as we find out we will announce that.

We love our CR Laurence windows. Ours are the "pop-out" style - not the sliders. In the summer - we quite often keep the rear windows popped open when driving.

I've considered the emergency exit aspect as well - I figure I'll pop out the back window if needed. I also keep a glass "breaker" near the beds in the back, in case it's needed.

You know, my one concern with upgrading to this window has been the loss of
emergency egress capabilities. Though I keep a glass breaker in all of my
vehicles, for some reason I hadn't considered that as an option in the GMC.
Brilliant!
