Is more gap better? Can there be too much gap?
I have two junkyard governors in good shape, one has a gap of about .026, and the other .032. Trying to figure out if one is "better".

Karen,
Another thing to check. I had a governor that was dragging its weights on the bottom of the housing. I only heard it, but it also would not let the weights swing "home" so it was starting in 3rd gear.
