Jim Anasett(sp) in his 23 footer devised a method of heating his fresh
water storage tank water with his engine sourced hot water
heater...probably off his hot water tank ?? somehow.
Don't snicker..it gave him a 35+ gallon heat sink under his bed when
snoring at the ski lodges in CO !

Any ideas on the plumbing he might have used to accomplish heating the
water in his fresh water tank ?

Also..does anyone have an email address for him?

Thanks

Mike

Always best to get the info from someone who really knows what they are
doing..

I stole this from somewhere, could have been Jim: "Install heater cores under the water and grey water tanks. By the time you stop at night you have a 40 to 60 gallon hot water bottle."

Found it. He said "heat exchangers" I assumed heater cores.

In my 23', the water heater is adjacent to the freshwater tank, both directly behind the entrance door. I see how a bit of plumbing would allow convection heat to the freshwater with a few fittings and a bit of hose, or the engine heater could be extended to the freshwater tank. Not for me, but in a 23' with the freshwater and heather side by side, it's a doable task.

Mike, My previous GMC's owner had installed baseboard hot water around the complete interior of the coach. Did not need it here, but up North, it would produce a large amount of heat to the interior. Coach came out of Colorado.

You wouldn't have a picture or two? I can't imagine where he found the
surface area to put baseboard heating?

Thanks

Sorry, no photos. But if you go to JimB's place the hulk of it is in his pull-a- part section. P.O. Removed the beautiful Avion interior and did a kluge of an interior in it's place. Once again, I bought the wrong thing.
But, he used standard baseboard hot water heating strips along both sides of the vehicle, plumbed them into the engine coolant.
