Does anyone use the built in vacuum? Are is it more common to remove it and use the space for storage?
Mine is under the front sofa, and that space could be used to store tools. Thanks.

I use mine, the most annoying part is packing it back into its little closet. Works well though.

Me too. Was very helpful during the renovation.

We didn't have a built-in vacuum - but I suspect that if we did, it would have been removed to gain space.
Instead, we use a VERY small (4 L / 1 US Gal) ShopVac Micro:

We're very happy with it.

My hose has a tendency not to lie flat so it pushes open the door of the closet by the entry door. (The annoying part) You have to get it just so. I have all the original nozzles some of which have clearly never been used, and probably never will. I feel that it would be a shame to discard them though. If I did relocate some of them its free up some space for that annoying hose.

I use mine at the end of a trip. I use a portable Dyson during the trips just to stay ahead a bit.

Wife got me the Micro shop vac like Rob from B.C. has. Works really well and hides in the cabinet under the one that has the electrical center in it. Would be nice to have a longer hose like the built-in vac, but the P.O. apparently had already removed that many years ago. Several tools fit in that cabinet now, a long handled window washer, along with some extra brake line tubes and another fire extinguisher.

The Dyson stick sounds like the way to go. Easy to store in a closet, maybe more suction that the built in vacuum also. And then a lot of freed up space from removing the built in vacuum. Win win!
Does anyone ever buy the old built ins? Scott.

I am sure someone would be interested in an OEM vacuum, I was!
We bought one last year to reinstall into our 2nd GMC.
We use the one in our #1 GMC all of the time!

I also like the fact of showing off that my 1975 motorhome has central Vacuum. People think that is pretty space age stuff.
