The support of the GMC committee has been OVERWHELMING. It started in the parking lot with Mike, and Billie Kelley that night till 2AM. Had Coach's offered to us to take to Rapids City. Ideas of GMC's for sale. Help with valuation to State Farm. Door to use to widen the next GMC door. And the many e-mails, and phone calls. The last 8 days. I've been in Minnesota to help our Daughter. That did help to get my mind off this mess. As to State Farm. My SF agent returned my call on that Sunday while playing golf on his vacation in Florida. Then got a release from the Nebraska State Fire Marshall, and SF so I could take my trailer and Yenko home that was attached to the GMC. As the fire Marshall had declared the mess as a crime seine. Then on Labor Day at about 11AM. A SF clams agent called to talk about what they could do for me. And what my concerns were. And inform me how I could help them in getting me a fair settlement. Then this last Friday about 4 PM. That Claims agent called to make me an offer then. He thought it would give me the week end to think about the offer. And he didn't want me worrying about this for one more week end. That's truly being there. As to the offer of a settlement. $25,000. And I get to keep my burned GMC. The policy wasn't a stated value policy. But I DID have to prove that it was way above average condition. That wasn't as high as it appraised for. But I feel it's a fair settlement. Thursday I'm thinking of taking the 30 ft equipment trailer over to Hastings Neb to pick up my GMC convertible. Then pick up the 78 Royale rear bath on Fri. Then pull the burned body off. Then put the other body on my salvaged drive train ,and frame.Bob Dunahugh78 GMC Hard Top78 GMC Convertable

Bob,
I don't remember if you mentioned how much the "new" Royale is going to cost you but with a settlement of $25K and your old coach
you should be able to come out of this disaster somewhat whole.
Unfortunately you're going to have to do a lot of work again but look on the positive side; it will be easier as you've done all
before!
By the way has the root cause of the fire been determined?

Glad to hear they were being fair on the settlement as I also have State Farm Insurance. I've found in the past that State Farm does seem to try to settle claims (at least with old time multi-policy holders) quickly and with minimal hassling. I don't mind paying a bit more if I'm treated fairly when/if I have a claim.
Good luck on your new purchase.

Yes it was Kerry, however, he's not interested in manufacturing them, as he has too many irons in the fire already! ...
It's not that I won't make them, it's more that they are too expensive to be a viable product. I've actually got a sample with me on the trip to the GMCWC and GMCMI but I don't expect to get any orders.

People pay $10k+ for a paint job, and $100k for a full restoration, I
suspect that you may be wrong.
