GMC Netters,

The most recent FMCA magazine had an article on Tire Pressure Monitoring
Systems. Since I am now pulling a towd and with more and more stories of
tire failures, wheel bearing problems and dragging brake issues, I feel
like it is time to make the investment to avoid future problems and have
a bit more peace of mind.

So, I am looking for some feedback on some of the different systems available.

I have it down to 5 systems that I have looked at on the net but may change
according to the feedback I receive from this post.

HCI / Tiresafeguard.com

RV Safety Accessories / tiretraker.com

Truck System Technologies RV507/ greatrvproducts.com

EEZTire / eezrvproducts.com

TireTech ON TP7004 / Amazon.com

Any comments or information on these would be appreciated.

thanks in advance

I was thinking about the Truck System Technologies RV507/ greatrvproducts.com but then I looked at the size of the units that attach to the valve and they would stick out about 2 inches and might be a little unsightly. Everything else about them looked really good though.

You should post links to the exact products you are comparing so there is no confusion when another member looks them up.

I have the Truck Systems TST 507 Flow Thru setup.

http://tsttruck.com/product/tst-507-flow-thru/

I did a tech seminar on TPMS at the 2013 Fall GMCMI Convention | Branson, MO rally. A write up is on the GMCMI website.

I am happy with the setup. I would not drive a GMC motorhome without TPMS.

Larry,

I remember a while back that Ken Henderson was looking into those systems as
well. I believe he was evaluating several systems to find one most suitable
for our GMCs.

I would contact him and see where that project is.

Regarding the size of the senders, EEZTire advertises their senders
( non flow thru ) to be about 1/3 smaller than the competition and
with a longer battery life due to some better engineering.

EEZTire is having a booth at the upcoming Hershey RV Expo.

Guy,

There were so many Chinese variants out there that I decided the selection
process to find a reliable system was too burdensome. I didn't want to get
into something that was too likely to turn into a warranty headache. I
never bought even one system -- I'm still waiting for someone else to do
the selection. :-)

Larry,

I don't use tire monitor systems. Once you read it, it's too late.
I check tire pressures before each trip. ....and sometimes during
mornings when outside temps drop and can reduce tire pressure.
Get to know how your coach feels and sounds over time.
