Reminds me of when I was riding with a FHP trooper one night in the late 70s and an oncoming car wouldn't dim her lights and of course he had to oblige her and find out her problem. I remember she said she would have been happy to if he would tell her how, it was her daughters car and she had no ideal where the new fantangled light dimmer switch was.

I noted when someone said the new steering columns could be set up to dim the GMC headlights, I wil;l give up the dimmer switch when they pry it from my cold dead toes. I bought a '68 Datsun wagon which had the first column dimmer I ever saw. And disliked intensely (the dimmer, not the car)

A little factoid on that switch. Peter Framton invented/used an effect pedal on the Frampton comes alive album called a talk box. His on/off foot switch was whatever that thing in that picture was. BTW, how did they even find that whatever it is thing under all that groovy shag carpeting!!!
