Can anyone beat this?: This morning I filled the GMC with 87 octane at
Murphy's for $2.009 per gallon! Been too long since that happened.

We had an upward "bump" excuse based on trouble at BP Whiting IN. Went up fast but coming down slowly now. Why is that? Anyway "they" are saying lower prices on the horizon.

In the spring of 2005 I was at an Eastern States GMC rally in Valdosta. I believe that you were there. I watched the price of gas go above $2.00 while there. I remember thinking " how am I going to afford this". I would never imagined that it would go this low again. So get out there and enjoy the GMC, we will never see prices this low again. Oh wait, I think I've said that before.

That’s about $4.25 per US gallon. A price we saw not too long ago…

From CA to MO the lowest we saw was 2.14. Of course, being a naive CA boy I pulled into a Casey's that said 2.45 for Super Regular. When I got to the pump I saw Regular 87 and Super Regular 87. The Regular proudly announced no ethanol. I could care less but thought Regular sounded like the cheaper one than Super Regular. Did I check the price marked on the pump? No. Got back in the coach and handed the slip to Ruth and she said, "$2.90? I thought it said $2.45?"

So I paid 45 cents a gallon for no ethanol and we put in 30+ gallons. Wow. Did I feel stupid. That's 14 bucks I won't get back soon.

Yeah, it always amuses me when folks here complain about the high price of petrol....even at $4.00 a gallon......its cheap compared to most places in
the West. $2.00 is a steal......likely cheaper in real terms than it was when the GMCs were built.
