Positive side of Saterday

I've run tracks from coast to coast. This track was vary different from all others. As it was SO FLAT. That brought on changes that I have never experienced. For a first timer. It's the BEST ever. Extremely safe. I was also extremely impressed with Mike Kelley's driving. Promise. You've never seen him smile like that day. EVER. Lynn Yenko wanted me to evaluate her 650HP Next Generation prototype Yenko Camaro on the track. And YES I DID. On one of the short straights. I happened to notice that my speed nearing the end of that straight was just coming off of 120 mph as I was approaching a 90 degree turn. I turned the traction control off to get a better feel. There were a few 80 degree turns that I was in the 75 mph range. And right at the apex. I gave it full throttle. And the back tire started to spin. I was able to put it into the nicest 4 wheel drift. An cam out of the corner at about 100. My report back to Lynn was WOW. That was a trip. I did say I was sorry about the rubber that I carefully removed from her tires. As to my tire usage for the day. At the end of the day. I was near cord on 3. So that means that I had a great day beating up my 69 Yenko Goodyear tire test car. Bob Dunahugh

Hi All:We are safely home - had a blast, won a plaque, met some really neat people, and Misty is still in one piece! The track was 2.1 miles long w/ 13 curves, mostly left, but some to right, very flat, very forgiving to us novices, and very fast for the experienced drivers. We had 18 participants w/ 3 or 4 runs apiece - a run consisted of a warm up lap, 2 hot laps (for time), and a cool down lap.Misty did well for a 110 hp Corvair, but could not keep up w/ the 140 hp Corsas and their special race prepped cousins. My first time was 2:35, my second and best time was 2:28, and my 3rd time w/ some distractions (a 140 hp caught up to me and my focus went to the rear view mirror), was 2:30. Bob Dunahugh gave me a fun ride in his one of a kind 69 Yenko Stinger and I found out how the professionals do it - Wow - the sharp curves I had taken at 45mph he took at 65mph for fun and said when racing, he takes them at 85mph. The straight away where I had hit 75 mph, he hits 110 mph when racing. Wow - what a lesson I got. Billie got to spend some quality time w/ new friends and encourage her man when he was ready to go on the track - what a NEAT Lady! We both had such a good time, we have committed to going again next year. The pic is of the line of all Vairs (we are in front row) that raced and Lynn Yenko's (daughter of famed Don Yenko) one of a kind 2014 - The Next Generation - Yenko Camaro, (in front) which I had the good fortune of running against in the 1/8 mile drag race. Chris Shade - Corvair Sales in Hastings, Neb. - did a great job of organizing and hosting this event - note to all Corvair owners - you ought to try this at least once.Race Track George (Track Owner) was a Hoot and made sure all went smoothly and safely.Coach is nearly unpacked and we are anticipating the next trip (this Fri.).Love to all, Mike & Billie - The Love Birds - still

All good,

Sounds like a thrilling, fun day for all. Good you can look at the
positive, Bob. Bad things just sometimes happen to good people. This,
too, will pass.
