Bob,

First, there are a whole of us here crying with you. Such a hit can't be easy.

I think you should contact Jim Miller (either would do). The Jims salvaged a TZE driveline by cutting the frame and rolling it out as a unit. If you did that, and carefully cut loose the bogies, you could then roll the carcass up on one side and salvage the fuel tanks as well. Then you bring everything of real value home on a small trailer.

Looking at the pictures, I would salvage the frame too instead of cutting it up. A good frame can be sold considering the cost of a new frame. Leave the floor on the frame after cutting off the remaining body, remove the front clip and motor and put weight over rear bogies on floor deck. Leave the Gen and LP tank and holding attached and Fab a piece of channel iron and attach to the front of the frame and make what is left a trailer and tow it home. Just add lights
