OK, I'm getting ready to replace my fuel lines. After crawling underneath to pre inspect everything I discovered my selector valve is missing. The fuel lines are teed together. My dash switch seems to work, at least the guage always show both tanks drawing down with the Aux tank emptying faster. I will be replacing my senders also. Should I leave the tee or install a new selector valve?

Thanks,
Jerry

Jerry,

You can't leave the T and have fuel inventory management at all. The hydraulics of such a system do not mean that you will always draw from the most full tank. You easy solution is the replace the selector valve which may be a PITA as all the replacements are configured upside down and backwards.

As both tanks are tied together, you'll only have fuel until the main tank runs out. You won't ever be able to draw down the aux tank below about two thirds empty. You will have about 40 gallons total usable capacity( to empty) vs the 50 in theory you should have. If you never run your main tank to empty you'll be fine. Replacing the switch over valve isn't a big deal though and the ability to use the extra fuel you're already hauling around anyway makes sense to me.

Thanks guys, that's the answer I was looking for since I had already purchased the valve.
