Alright, moving along the short list of stuff to do. Next is one I've been pretending isn't going to be a problem, but is. I've been testing my water system and have found a bit of dribble from the outlets of both tanks. It also looks like both tanks have undergone some repair in the past. This is a '77 Birchaven 23' rear bath model with a smaller blackwater tank at the back and much larger graywater tank a bit further forward.
So, I come to you with a couple questions. Is it worth dropping the tanks myself to attempt a replacement? How many extra pipes and seals and flanges are needed in that operation? Not gonna lie, the risk of risidual goop falling out in my driveway has me a bit squeamish... Also, I'll call Applied tomorrow to verify, but my tanks are held up with screws through an upper flange which isn't present on the Applied GMC replacement tanks. I've measure the tanks at 26x24 and 48x20.
Lastly, I've got half a mind to poke a hole in my wallet and let all the money fall out at a local shop. Anybody recommend a shop in the Reno, Nevada area? I'd love to be able to drive over the hill to Jim K, but that'll be a tough sell to get a ride home from the missus.
