I have cut the new headliner (FRP 0.09" thick from Lowe's) to the size
of the old headliner plus an inch on both sides. That didn't fit at all.
Removed half an inch on both sides, and it still bowes.

Do I not push the headliner far enough into the side slides, or is it
possible, that I need to cut another half inch off on both side, as
maybe the California weather didn't cause any shrinking to speak off to
the old headliner.
I am really baffled and at my wits' end. Any and all help is greatly
appreciated.
