Ken I have a much outdated version but love it as you could import all the CD data to your drive and then leave the CD at home. Do you know if this version still has that feature? Thanks.

Don,
If you were provided a suspect route with Delorme could one obtain a rough
location from the directions in the questionable area and then look it up
on google earth for a real birds eye view with which to make a better
decision?

I ordered the Delorme bundle with GPS receiver last night and am stoked to
hook it to my ms surface and test fly it on a trip to a soccer tournament
next weekend in Portland. Later in August we are trekking to Panacca Nevada
for the second to last round of the NHHA series and hope to have the
nav system kind of worked out before.

Alan,
It is hardly an either/or situation.
The dashboard GPS are never much value for planning and lack so many of the easily available features that they cannot be compared. While Street Atlas on a laptop or tablet can be an underway navigator, even a small tablet is too large to put in front of a driver. The best that we have found is to load the day's route (or the moments - some cases) to the driver's GPS. (Either directly or by cable.) Then examine and correct the route as needed.
