We use the Norcold 641.2 model. Its a 2 door, 6.6cf, 2 way. Fits and works well. Forget a new cooling unit, may work for a while but risk of fire increases. Good luck,

Wanted. Refridgerator Options PLEASE.
Oh Crap! My refrigerator For my TZE just went onto a 3 day death throw. Its a Norcold 778. (3 way fridge) it has plenty of heat in both 120 and gas
and no cooling. Therefore it must be in need of a cooling unit.
It seems that my options are:
1 - Buy Replacement fridge at the RV Dealer
2 - Have Dealer Replace Cooling Unit
3 - Do a Coolng Unit replacement myself.
4 - Buy a used Fridge
Does Anyone in Alberta, Washington, Oregon, Western California (Bay Area, LA area, San Diego area) have an afordable option for me.
(Cooling Unit, Used Fridge, new Fridge)
Im headed that direction with a utility trailer and can pick up. The Canadian Dollar stinks right now so that will be a concideration
Im willing to change out the cooling unit if I can find one that Does not need to be shipped to Canada or if the core charge is cheap enough. (I can
pick it up during my trip) hopefully it would be a good quality (i don't know what products are concidered good) (I also do not know where to buy
one along my route)
Ill also be stopping into some of the mass marketers along the way (Any suggestions for good ones that I should check out would also be appreciated)
By the way. I know miguel and jim K (I'll be stopping in to see them)
Thanks

A new cooling unit from the Amish folk is better than the original, and
will cost about $700, shipped to West Coast area. I don't know if they
have anywhere else to b uy them, but you might contact them and ask. If
you have time enough to have it shipped to someone on your travel route,
you might try that. Also might ask Jim K. (Phone: 800-752-7502, email
mail@appliedairfilters.com ) if he's willing to act as shipping
go-between and install it for you.

Not difficult to install, as long as you're strong enough to get the old
one out and on the coach floor.

Jim, the Amish new or rebuilt cooling units are better than the
originals. heavier tubing, and only about $700. Does not increase the
risk of fire.

The Norcold 641.2 has no warranty when installed in a normal GMC fridge
compartment, as the bottom of the lower vent is not flush with, or lower
than, the compartment floor.
