This is the screen door that's installed on my 26' 73 Painted Desert (click through for larger pictures):
   
Is that a Birch screen door?
How is the latching mechanism supposed to work? Right now, it's just got a little springy wire gizmo that sort of squeezes into the door frame - you can see it off-center in the fourth picture. The wires are wearing into the frame, so I figure that can't be how it is supposed to work. I guess there is supposed to be some kind of roller in there?

Sean,
Yes, that's a birch door. I have two like it. That is the latch, or most
of it. There is supposed to be a roller
between those two little ears, top and bottom. I was just in there this
afternoon, but didn't pay any
attention, as it always worked fine. It is spring loaded, as I recall, and
there's a little ramp plate that
it slides over to hold the door closed. when everything's right, it's a
super set-up.
