I recently ordered a Duracool Mo0bile AC tune-up and sealant kit for the Royale. We plan to be in Europe with a group of GMC friends starting mid-august for about a month including a river trip and a leisurely 14 day sail back across the Atlantic from Amsterdam to NY on Crystal Cruse lines. Shortly after we get home we will leave for GMCMI in SD where I will give three seminars (a bunch of things I bet you don’t know about your GMC, how to properly align a GMC yourself and how to make your interior look better than it has since it rolled out of the factory some 40 years ago). Since we will be in hot country Sharon really, really wants the dash air to work well and this AC tune-up kit (about $90 including postage for everything needed including the hose and gauge) says that is just what it will do. All went well today putting in the DuraDry to take any water out of the system, the system sealer to eliminate leaks and the AC oil chill (oil) to keep thing running smoothly. It is blowing good and cool and reading about 37 or so on the low side with the compressor running. Interesting that just adding these three things raised the low side pressure from about 15 to about 37 without adding any more Duracool. I will take along a couple more cans just in case.
I also note they are now offering new AC compressors at what look to be very competitive prices so I emailed them to see if they have a replacement for our Sandon part number 1401025 compressors (I think that is the right one for the 455s). I will report back if/when they respond.
