New slab by my shop.
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/misc/p58424-new-gmc-parking-slab.html
It's about 900 sq ft total. My current parking space is beside the house on a slab that slopes side to side and has a drain diverter under the front. Not optimal. This slab slopes down rear to front about 3" where the coach will sit but is level side to side. It's about 40' front to rear so there is room for my cousins diesel pusher when he visits.
In my current parking area, I have to either walk back and forth to the shop about 9 million times a day or bring my tools and stuff and leave in the bosses garage. Not optimal. Now I can just step into the shop. I still need to hook up a 30A outlet or two. I can actually put two coaches on the slab if needed.
Phase two will be another 14x40' slab that will be enclosed with a high ceiling. I need to sell a couple Imperial convertibles that currently reside in a lean to that will be torn down to make room for the new room. I'll wait for cooler weather though. This 95 degrees and 95% sucks!

Rough it?
Don't you mean HOLD IT?

Well, there are always trees. Besides, even in Alabama these days, we have indoor plumbing.
Seriously, our septic tank is on the far side of the house from the pad and driveway. To trench in a new sewer line would entail crossing a buried gas line, a power line, and a TV cable. this is the same reason I haven't put a bathroom in the shop. I just ain't in the mood. Besides, it keeps people from overstaying their welcome.

Kerry,
Speaking of indoor plumbing when I bought the terrace house we live in here in Paddington in 1981 it still had the dunny (outhouse)
out in the back yard. It was plumbed into a sewer line but when the house was built in 1876 the toilet bowl would have had a pan
under it that would be removed by the "night soil" tank:

I agree with you regarding keeping people from overstaying their welcome; as Benjamin Franklin once said; "Guests, like fish, begin
to smell after three days."

In the process of pumping my septic recently, and replacing the outfall pipe, the contractor discovered (the hard way) that the water and gas lines were in the same ditch. So now at least I know where they are. I asked him about running a line up the slope to the side of the driveway for a dump station. He says that's an official plumbing addition, has to be permitted and approved. Damn. But, he sez, I have a cleanout on my truck, I'll just attach it in the new outfall.. oughta have one anyhow.
So I have a dump sticking up in the yard, and when it's cooler, I'll take a sharpshooter and trench up to the driveway. 3 sections of 4" PVC, unions, and an elbow and a sack of Sackrete<tm> and I'll have a dump I don't hafta drive down into the yard to get to.
