my brother in law has same or similiar. he uses on his patio when it is not in his camper.
does not take long to make ice,as it melts a little that water drips down to be made into ice again. It kept up with 3 of us during an evening of medium to heavy drinking.

Last 4th, we spent about $60 on ice. I bought what appears to be the same icemaker under another brand on Amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IY7BNUW

It arrived on the 2nd and has run non-stop since. We didn't buy any ice for the coolers this year. Note that RV use is one of the more frequent uses mentioned in comments. Highly recommended.

Note2 that it does not store ice, just makes it. I had considered cutting a chute and water supply into it and make it dump into a cooler but it performed well enough that I didn't bother.

what it usually means it was returned by a buyer apparently unused........they cannot by law sell it as "new" so they
check that it actually works then sell it as "refurbished"
