Can anyone give me a rough price of a Zip-Dee awning for a 26' GMC?
Thank you.

FYI, the Zip Dee standard awning runs $2100, plus tax/shipping where appropriate.

I would also be interested in the Dometic price for comparison.

Harry,
You might want to check with Jim K. Last time we got a quote from him, it was about $400 LESS than directly from ZipDee in Illinois.

Wow. I know I was needing an awning and was researching companies....but never actually thought about the price. That's a good chunk of change.

I see many listings local for used awnings off of various RVs. Does anyone know if there is a specific size or anything for the GMC coach?

It is a chunk of change.

I bought a used one. My research shows it is older then 1985. It looks and functions great. I am positive it is the original material.

The awning is having a full life now on its second gmc. I se nothing wearing out or fading anytime soon.

That says alot of the awning.

The curve of the GMC body defeats purchasing a second hand awning except from a GMC. I have a old Carefree awning that I pulled from my coach. It is defective, and due to it's age and GMC style, parts are no longer available. The odds are I will never find parts.

Take a look at my pictures... the awning fitted (which later departed in a storm) had arms which folded into the awing case and clipped on the coach side. They will work on a GMC. Fixed arms must be arced to clear the side. I think mine was Dometic, it had a bock to back D logo on the case.

Tom,

Send me a photo of your Carefree awning and what parts you need, Jim Bounds had one in his junk pile a few years back and he might
still have it.

Zip Dee is hands down the better unit, and well worth the addl cost

Back when I was parts mgr at Lazy Days there was minimum pricing in effect so dealers could not undercut the list price. But it is certainly worth checking into as a lot can change in 25 years.

Also, I would advise you to find an installer with Zip Dee experience, preferably on a GMC. They are a bit tricky if you havent done it before.

When I do Appraisels, I add $800 minimum to the value of the coach with
ZipDee.
We sell lot of A&E and Carfree(Dometic) for the SOB people, but discourage
them for the GMC.

I'd love to find a used Zip Dee near by... But it doesn't seem to be likely!

The awning on the 26’ is 18’ 1 & 3/4” long, that is the length that was marked on the awning on the ZipDee that we installed a number of years back. You can ask Jim K to verify.
