Is there any advantage or disadvantage to an anti-drain back valve in an oil filter?

WIX 51258 has an anti-drain back valve

WIX 51049 does not have an anti-drain back valve

WIX 51049 is .84" higher than WIX 51258.

Other dimensions are the same. Both filter to 21 microns and both fit the 455 engine.
