Why wouldn't it? It just would not have the redundancy and limp home characteristics of the rigid center mount 4 bag systems. I would think it would have more redundancy than a standard 2 bag system, though.

The first version, built like this, had failures of the center support due to flexing. I have no knowledge of the exact system being sold by Gateway.
Disclaimer: I have a four bag system installed, designed by Leigh Harrison. It works well.

Silly question, but why not just eliminate the whole center arm / pivot? You'd end up with something pretty similar to a single-bagger system... you'd still have the redundancy of being able to limp along with one bag blown (though with twice the opportunity for a blown bag), and you wouldn't have to worry about the strange forces on that rigid center arm (which is going to be tweaked every time the rear wheels move out of sync).

I've read the documentation that Firestone published and the bags used in the Quadra Bag, Four Bag, and Dual Bag are NOT meant to be
mounted horizontally and subjected to side loading.
They are meant to be mounted horizontally between the frame and a suspension component with minimal offset from horizontal, IIRC
it's something like 25°.
Please don't ask me for the Firestone reference I just don't have the time to look for it, sorry.

I think the best airbag is the OEM, with the Sully Bag a close second.
Sorry, I put the Quadrabag on my coach, and the ride got harder, and it lost
the "magic" carpet ride quality where I could drive over a curb or small
child and not even fell it...
Randy has the Sully Bags, and he's happy with them.

We use that same bag (the double humper) in the body shop on the frame rack as a jack to lift the body when installing anchor clamps.
Manufactured with a plate on the bottom and what you would see on a floor jack on the top. Made by, or for, Chief Industries.
Yeah, you would never want to use this device horizontally to push anything.
I agree the OEM was the best, and the Sullybag a close second, both for ride and price.
