An RV owner should weigh their fully loaded RV to
measure each tire’s load per axle. We can do that at the GMCWS meetings.
As a backup, we can measure this at a Pilot Flying J refueling station
for $10, but Flying J normally measures all the tires on an axle.
When you know your maximum weight per tire, you can look up your
tire’s size on this chart and find what pressure you need for your highest-
loaded tire on that axle. You may also find out if you need to buy
larger or higher pressure-rated tires to carry your fully loaded over
specification coach.
Tire 1=LT225/75 R16 LRD (65 psi max) or LRE (80 psi max) fits
the Alcoa Classic 16” wheel, Tire 2 =245/75R16 LRD (65 psi max) or
LRE (80 psi max), Tire 3 =8.75R16.5 is the original bias light truck
wheel and tire combination that was used for the first three years of
production. Fabricated steel wheels also have larger out-of-round tolerances.
You can find the tire’s information and its maximum pressure
molded into its sidewall.

Several other weighing options

1. Stop by your state highway weight station. Most leave the scales on when they are closed. 2. Stop by a local grain elevator. Most will let you drive over for free.
3. Stop by a truck stop that advertises CAT scales. Cost will be around $10.00.
4. Come to a GMCMI rally or the Bean Station work rally. We will weigh it for you.
5. Stop by my hangar in Valparaiso, IN and I'll weigh it for you.
