Can anyone else tell me if I am reading this right?

When running on DC the relay has the thermostat switching 12VDC on and off, and when plugged into 120VAC the relay engages and the thermostat switches 120VAC on and off. Am I seeing that correctly?

Yes, that is correct, Thermostat switches the power supplied, either 12VDC or 120VAC

Thanks. It seemed unusual to me that it would work that way. I figured when it was on 120VAC power the thermostat would just switch the 24VAC of the compressor and wouldn't care if it wasted a few watts in the transformer when the compressor was off. Pretty cool that when the thermostat doesn't call for cooling, 0 power is wasted, even on shore power or generator.
