I guess those of us who know the value of our loveable coaches ARE what might be considered snobs.
I absolutely LOVE my coach, with all her faults, and don't feel snobbish at all. I mean it's HOME.
that's the comfort and sense of NEST I feel every time I enter it. As it SHOULD BE.
I'm still learning all the tricks and little nuances to these fine machines, and it just gets better and better!
I guess - to each his own - is about all there is to say. Personally, I wouldn't trade mine for anything.
Just moved into it full time, and aside from wondering what the heck I was thinking when I collected all the junk
I just shed, and the liberating feeling that goes with that. There is no looking back. This is the best adventure I've had in years!

Barb,

Full timing in a GMC with one person is feasible, however, I am of the opinion they're a bit small for two people.

I suspect many men would be happy full timing and dumping the hassles of property management that come with owning or even renting a house,
however the number of wifes willing to do the same might be considerably less Smile
Julie is open to doing the 48 states plus Canada and Alaska, but wants the anchor of a home as well. What we might end up doing is doing the trip in chunks of 3-4 months
and stashing the RV in different places around the country and flying/travel by train back to "Home" for a few months break in-between. We have an Apartment on the west coast of
Scotland so Summers there wouldn't be too much of a hardship, RVing spring and Fall and back in NC (or wherever the Kids/Grandkids end up) for the winter......unless they end up in Minnisota!

In out 240,000 miles of touring in North America, we only met one couple who lived full time in their 26’ GMC. They had a small station wagon tow that was their storage. He had been a aircraft restorer and they sold their business and airplanes after he had a heart problem. She was a grommet cook and enjoyed very complicated low carb meals which took her a long time to prepare. He made fine gold jewelry. We met them on the road after they had spent over two years living this way. They spent their winters in southern Florida and toured North America following the best weather. They said it was too bad it took the heart problem to force them to leave all that stuff behind and find this wonderful new free lifestyle. They said wished they had done this long ago.

BTW, the calculations on my story about “gains in MPG with HH&O gas injection have been corrected on the GMCWS.org technical articles. ROI is still less than one year of our 10,000 miles/year of touring.
