I spoke to Dave Lenzithis afternoon. His surgery was postponed from this week to next Tuesday. He sounded in good spirits but is very aprehensive. I told him we are all praying and rooting for him
I spoke to Carol Baxter today. She had surgery on a heart artery yesterday. It seems to have gone well.
My spinal surgery is scheduled for next Wed from 10am until 5:00pm.
Then 6 days in the hospital followed by 7 or 8 days at a sleep in rehab center.
Hope there aren't too many others out there that are suffering.

Emery,
I was going to call Mary this evening to see how things went for Dave’s surgery. I will call this weekend.
I look at it as everyone is getting a tuneup for another 100K miles.

Emery,
Thanks for the update on Carol, Dave, and yourself. I am confident that all three of you will (as we say Downunder) come good (turn
out OK). I believe in Karma - good things happen to GOOD people!
I am absolutely astonished at how well my new bionic knee is doing - it has gotten strong enough for me to climb and descend stairs
using the left leg!
If anybody is suffering pain in their knee I highly recommend you have it replaced. If you can stand a bit of guts and gore search
You Tube for "Knee Replacement Surgery" and you can educate yourself as to what you're up for. Ask your circle of friends if they or
anyone they know has had a knee replacement recently. It needs to be recently as from the research I did I found the procedure has
improved greatly over the years. Once you've got the recommendations decide on the surgeon and make an appointment. During the
appointment ask him what his success rate is; my surgeon noted he has a 95% success rate as measured by people that tell him they
are happy with the operation overall. My surgeon noted that he does not operate on everybody that comes to see him; he only operates
on people that he feels will do the physio religiously! The reason being if they don't they WON'T be happy with the outcome and it
negatively affect his success rate and reputation. He is very proud of his reputation as he charged me $9,875 AUD and I will only
get back about $1,800 from Australian Medicare and my Bupa (my private health insurance).

My CPA had both replaced and says she wished she'd done it ten years sooner.
One of my knees hurts if I turn it the wrong way - osteoarthritis, my physician says. as long as I can chase larges dogs around a show ring, I will leave it be. I do a mile a day with the dog, and it improves the knee as well as keeps my weight down. My doc pointed out, after mentioning 'the orthopods upstairs' that being diabetic increases the risk of an osteo infection, and while the risk is still small, these infections can be devastating. Since some of yall are payinhg him for his opinion(s) about me, I figured I'd get your money's worth. I'll be dancing on the one what brung me unless or untill I can't and then we'll re address the situation.
In the meantimes, Paula and I will keep all the mentioned folks in our prayers for a good outcome.

So to add a tiny bit of GMC content to this thread, and toss in a little Sunday sermonizing -
Our coaches were remarkable feats of modern technology at the time and must have seemed like game changers (although they didn’t really change the game of boxes on trucks…)
So here we are today faced with the ravages of aging yet our modern technology has devised ways to alleviate the pain of worn out parts, some of the affliction of arthritis, cleaning our pipes of blockages, and blasting misbehaving body tissue out of our selves. Dan Gregg used to say “Life is Good” and that’s true, but I think we live in a remarkable times where human ingenuity is encouraged (even profitable) that enhances our time here on earth.
I’m reminded of some graffiti I read on a bathroom wall in the library at Stanford University so very long ago
I ask for all things so I might enjoy life.
Yet I receive life so I might enjoy all things.
I’m going to hug my GMC and thank it for bringing so much joy to my family in our travels in her. I should thank her for bringing y’all along with us too!
Please be generous when the collection plate passes by...
