Over our many years of full time and part time RVing we have used many different wifi repeaters and cell phone range extenders. While some do some good, we have yet to find units that make enough difference to matter and all have been uninstalled from both our coaches. We have found that Verizon is consistently better than any other carrier for the places we go. We used to carry one unit tied to Verizon, one to ATT and one to Smart Talk. all worked well around major metro areas but only Verizon was consistently reliable in rural America. Teather either to your cell phone or iPad and from our experience you will have both phone and wifi most places in the US. We have found very few really open wifi spots that were not trying to sell something or lift something from you so user be ware.
