I'm installing a new light fixture above the couch behind the driver seat, and found some electrical wiring in the wiring channel above. There is a single blue wire with a connector on the end, and a brown wire and blue wire with a two prong connector at the end. From what I see in the wiring diagram, these may have originally connected to a light fixture above the couch. Probably a dumb question, but are the male/female counterparts to these old connectors still available, or should I just cut them off and install something newer?

While I'm thinking about it, what type of fastener was originally used to hold the wiring channel cover in place? One of my coach's POs cut strips of FRP (the same FRP as on the ceiling) and used a plastic channel riveted to the aluminum channel to hold the FRP in place. The plastic is starting to crack, though, so I'm wondering if there's a better solution.

I just used crimp-on male spade terminals to plug into the original connector. Wrap one wire with electrical tape to keep the wires separate and then wrap the entire connection with the same tape to keep the connection together. Put a small tie strap on it to keep tape from coming unraveled in the summer heat. Or just replace the whole thing with crimp-on male and female bullet connectors.
