Hello all,
I'm in the process of trying to find the upper radiator hose for our 403 (we still have the original hose on it!). I've confirmed the original part # which is 2015466, however I'm unable to cross reference this part number anywhere. The chart on this page doesn't have the part numbers for the 403: http://gmcmotorhome.info/radiator.html. Does anybody have a Gates, Goodyear, or another brand part number for it? Thanks in advance for the help!

I just posted on this a couple of months ago. Use the search function. The interchange number hose looks very different than the original but works much better and won't sag on the alternator belt. Cut 1" of the thermostat end and you will have a better hose than the original.

Thanks Bob, I just got that very hose today and it does look like the thermostat end needs to be cut just a little bit as you mentioned, otherwise it runs up really close to the floor of the coach. But yes it is better than the original as it's way out of the way from the alternator belt and fan, where the old one sagged and got really close. Thanks again!

Bob,
Got the upper hose on (cut) and it fits great. It runs pretty close to the floor but it looks like it's not enough to cause any problem. I am not able to find the other post about how to cut the bottom (lower) hose. I'm considering replacing that one as well. I see that the Gates 22125 is the one. Which end and approx. how much did you have to cut off of it? Thanks!!

Chris, I'm glad it worked for you. I didn't replace the lower hose so I have no input on that one.

Thanks to everybody for all of the feedback, and information. I decided to write up instructions for replacing these hoses as I know I'll forget the next time and hopefully it will help others as well.
Upper hose:
Use the Gates 20991 hose
The end that has the sharper bend in it, is the end that goes on the water outlet. The end with the more gradual bend goes on the radiator.
Cut 0.75" from the end that attaches to the water outlet at the engine.
Hose should go on and clear everything including belts, fan, etc. It does run close to the floor so additional protection or a guard on the hose may be necessary.
Lower hose:
Use the Gates 22125 hose
The end with the longer side goes on the radiator. The end with the shorter side goes on the water pump.
Cut 2" from the shorter end (water pump side). Cut 4.5" from the longer end (radiator side).
Hose should go on easily and clear the belts, trans and fuel lines, etc.

Nice job Chris. I have a lower hose ready to go in. Yesterday, I had to replace my failed Delco fan clutch (the only one that ever worked well)and I discovered that the new hose had to be removed in order to get the fan out. With the old hose I was able to squeeze the fan out of there but it's no big deal and only lost a quart or so of coolant.
