Hey guys, I'm new to the group. I am trying to find a part source. On my 74 a windshield leak and 40 years of use has made my horn contact ring rusty and weak. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement?

Napa or Advance or almost any parts store should have that. Maybe in the HELP section, or perhaps it's Dorman now.

There is a flat aka belleville spring, the cup, three screws and an insulator that are all worth collecting out of any GM of the period and most of the more civilized Jeeps (they used a GM column for years).

Now that you made it here two things...
Please put a geographic reference in your sigfile. I know it is in the header, but half the users of this forum get it as individual e-mails and never see the header. You probably have an old friend that is close by and you just haven't met him yet. That brings me to another point. As you are here, you are now a member of a community like few others. As you may have noticed, I know the problem....
There is a flat aka belleville spring, the cup, three screws and an insulator that are all worth collecting out of any GM of the period and most of the more civilized Jeeps (they used a GM column for years).
The part numbers are:
Insulator/bushing 9754764
Cup-receiver 9748190
Spring-Belleville 9749040 (Replace 9749363)
I used to go through a lot of these parts until I stopped the windshield leak. I never had trouble finding good ones in the scrap yards, but I was not in Germany. The parts are common to virtually all the GM cars with a center horn button.
When I could not find one, I could usually get the old part to be functional by wire wheeling it. This usually works until the belleville spring fails.
