Several days ago there was an inquiry on if anyone had turned a GMC into a trailer. At least two have been done as a 5th wheel conversion.
Burt and Faye Curtis did one. They were building to haul their race car.

This is another one that has a picture on the GMC photo site.

There was a least 1 done as a pull-a-long trailer.

I will admit during the worst of my drivetrain issues last year, I thought about just building a 26' tow behind GMC from my stripped parts coach. Build a new front subframe that contains the hitch. Drop the floor in the front to add that additional 4' of flat space up front. Move the bogies forward for balance if necessary although once you remove the front drivetrain and dash 'stuff', you would loose a lot of weight up front. Electric trailer brakes on the rear bogies. Keep the Onan and water tank.

Rear twins, shower across the hall. Nice kitchen and with the additional space up front, a nice lounging area. Probably wouldn't be kicked out of most GMC rallies.... Rolling Eyes

How about a full master bedroom and bath (full size shower, bidet, what have you) in the trailer and a Bellows type diaphram between the trailer and a conventional 26ft coach when camping (like between two railroad cars) Very Happy

The length of your RV determines how you will tour, sightsee and explore.

The first thing you learn when you tour and try to explore is that all the pull off spots that were created after WWII on non freeway roads were made for RVs of that time. That was before big engines so RV were almost all less than 25/26 feet long. Talk to people who have trailers and see if that is kind of touring you want to do; where you park and lock your RV for safety and tour in you motorized part, and then return for the night. Your touring is now limited to how far you want to back track to you parked RV.

We stay at high rated RV campgrounds (above 7) and use their bath facilities.

For an unusual "Class C". Conversion. From marking on vehicle, was a U.S. Navy owned conversion. Driven by individuals in civilian attire.
Started as a 23' GMC, grafted to a Ford truck.
