How do the colors in the Zipdee awnings last. Thinking about a solid Red (sunbrella logo red) or White (Go Pack!)
but worry that either might look washed out after a few years or worse the red might turn to Pink!

Don't know about red but mine looks pretty much the same after 28 years. I don't think I would worry about it if you're in it for the long haul.

Pete:

Mine is orange and white and I've had it apart to service it. No evidence of color fading when compared to the parts that have been hidden for all if its life. Also the Awning really is not exposed to the elements for a big part of its life (rolled up) But that was 1975 Sunbrella material. Can't say about todays product. However: when you get a chance. Walk down the Marinas where all the large sail boats have their cabin and sail covers that are exposed to the sun for most if their life. It looks like the sunbrella material can still take a beating. The common colors I see there are blue and a maroon red And they look pretty good to me, but I have no idea how old that stuff might be, however I would imagine some to be older.

Just my situation.

For us here in the southwest, the sun will destroy the fabric as it attaches to the coach where its exposed, leaving the rolled up portion perfectly good, but useless. I made some covers out of drain pipe to help slow this process.

Original zipdee, sunbrella, but I think the chemicals used to make our vintage awnings may be illegal now, however our home patio sunbrella umbrella (burgundy) hasn't faded at all in last 8 years.

Pete,

Here in Australia, Queensland does not observe daylight savings time because doing so causes curtains to fade and affects the amount
of milk that cows produce.

Makes sense to me!
