I can get a new cooling unit for my refrigerator for $450 + $95 shipping. How difficult is it to swap out the cooling units?

Thanks,

John,

If you had ever seen Leon from Fix Your Frige do it, you would know it is an big non-issue.
He took one in front of us all and pulled the cooling unit like a GI doing a field strip.
It went back together the same way.

There are You Tube videos that show it. When my Dometic died I decided to chuck the whole thing because other things like the control boards, etc could be next.

Thanks. I hadn't thought to look on YouTube. I will check that out. I am leaning toward replacing the cooling unit to minimize cost. It will have a three year warranty and the rest of the refrigerator looks like it is in good shape.

If I go for it I will try to document it for the photo site. I couldn't find anything when I did my search.

Thanks again,

John

if you replace the cooling unit, get one of the Amish new or rebuilt units.
Search Amish RV cooling unit
