Anybody know how to adjust the 79 Caddy disk parking brake so it works
help slow the coach as well as working as a parking brake? I drove it a
while without using the parking brake, then I discovered that it didn't
work, anyway, because the cable fell off and got all frizzled away on the
pavenmen. Cable repaired, but brakes now need adjusting.

I went to great pains to make mine work. Never got it to hold on
anything but a slight incline - where the parking pawl would hold safely.

My "parking brake" is now very simple.

If I'm going to sit for any length of time I have wheel chocks for backup.

Of course, Oregon doesn't have any safety inspection for that kind of
stuff so we can get away with this.

As you can see it has additional uses! ;-)

Caddy calipers use an Acme screw kinda like setup to actuate. I have read that they need to be used frequently and the Acme screw
kinda thing need to be clean and lubricated so the piston does not hang when the lever is released and burn out the pads / disk.
IIRC Emery had that happen to him.

I did a Google search for "Cadillac rear disc brake caliper parts breakdown" and this was one of the links that popped up, it is for
a Camaro but the caliper works the same as the Caddy.
