Paint shop finally got the frame back to me. It is now on the chassis jig for final assembly.

Engine shop has the the engine on the dyno will start on front clip assembly next week

Engine got on the dyno today. (Engine shop assure me it will last longer than our race engines.) Very Happy

Thank you for the update and photos.
Did you separate the frame sections where they are doubled and paint within?
Just curious as I recall that was reportedly a week need when the Exploer GMC's were given frame off restoration.

Hi Dennis,

Yes, the frame was fully disassembled , cleaned and painted. It was not a lot of extra work and made for a better job doing it this way.

Reassembly on our chassis jig will help to assure it is done to OEM specifications.

Wow - looking at the pictures of your shop, I'm jealous. I consider mine to be better than I would ever have, but wow.

I loved the comment your dyno guy made. Consider however if the GMC engine was built to the race engine specs, How fast could you get somewhere, close.
