This link may help those of you who want to have quick disconnect for the rear and/or front sway bars. http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/SwayBar.shtml It shows disconnecting the roll bar at the link, not by cutting the bar itself.
What little difference I could actually feel driving the Royale without roll bars and the Clasco when it had roll bars would not be worth this kind of hassle, at least not to me. If anybody wants these Caspro rear sway bars that came off of the Clasco, you are welcome to them (pick up only in Kerby, OR, and it would be just the bars themselves, not the mounting hardware, some of which is still on the coach and a hassle for me to remove).
At to the stock "closed loop" vs the wireless air "open loop" ride height and leveling control, I like the wireless air far better than either the ELI originally on the 77 Clasco or the ELII originally on the 78 Royale. Like the ELI and ELII systems it is easy (actually easier since you can program the up or down air pressure you want in each bag individually) to raise the back end while in city driving to reduce tail dragging or to drop the back end to dump. With a high air flow pump like the 100% duty cycle Viair units commonly used with the wireless air system one button push takes you back to cruise ride height quickly. With just three air connections (compressor to manifold, manifold to the two air bags) there are far fewer places to leak and far fewer control parts to fail. Maintenance consists of changing the batteries in the remote once in a while. Any time you want to know air pressure in the bags, just press one button and it displays those pressures on the rem
