Hi,
my passenger's side headlamp is working no more.
According to the maintenance manual I have to remove the bezel (no
problem just unscrew the two remaining working screws), and disengage
the spring. However, how do I disengage that damn spring? I tried to use
a wrench to pull it forward, but I can't seem to seperate it :(
Any good advise is greatly appreciated.

My pdf version doesn't really show the retaining screws. Anyone has a
picture that show clearly what the retaining screws are and what the
adjustment screws are?

Off hand I don't have a picture, but once you remove the plastic headlight surround, look at the bulb and you will see a metal ring that holds it on the support housing. The adjuster screws are larger and are a Phillips head--there should be 2 of those, one for up and down, and 1 for sideways. You will see 2 very small screws that hold the ring to the larger housing. They are usually a straight slotted screw. There are small tabs on the ring. Take those out, and tilt the ring upwards off the headlight. Then you should be able to pull the headlight out, and insert the new one the same way.

Thanks to everybody. We've got it out, and I got a surprise. One needs
to buy the whole enclosure?!
Who stores that thing? There is an Advanced Autoparts around the motel.
I only knew headlights were you plug a new bulb in and be done with it :(

Thanks.
Luckily for me, the previous owner had one Sylvania 6014 stored under
the bed :D
It works, but I needed duct tape to keep the connector from falling off.
Any suggestion of how to better fix this? Maybe a brand that people do
know that has long enough things sticking out the back

On our next stay at/trip to Walmart we will get another spare, just in
case.
SWMBO is REALLY happy that we have two working headlights again, and
after hitting the spring with some WD40 it was really easy to remove.
Unfortunately, the retainer is currently only connected by one of the
three connectors... Let's hope it won't fall out.

It won't fall out. BTW if the wiring plug is not tight, you can twist the terminal blades on the headlight a bit with pliers so that the connectore is tight.

I think Peer is referring to the plastic shroud on the plug not letting the terminals fully engage the connector...I had to trim mine with a razor knife to get it to fully engage the terminals on the bulb. Otherwise, only about 1/8--3/16 of the terminals make it into the connector.

Peer,
I have run into this. A friend came up with a number that had the longer plug point but when I tried to duplicate that at an autoparts the one I brought home was short. I finally did a bit of trimming on the plug part so it would seat all the way down on the bulb.
