Thank you for your kind words,thoughts, and prayers.
I needed a little pick me up tonight. We just returned from the hospital in
Ann Arbor, and did not get the best of news.
I had a double heart cath a week ago and just met with the doctor today.
The cath detected a blockage that he had hoped to repair during the open
heart surgery. After looking at the amount of work/time required to replace
my entire aorta arch, he does not want to do this blockage repair (bypass)
at that time. He brought in another expert, and they both agreed that I
should have the blockage corrected with a stint before open heart surgery.
This delays my open heart surgery by about another month. Possibly June
4th. Mary and I were looking forward to having all of this behind us by
that time, and is quite disappointing.
I am sure this plan is best for the success of my operation, and we will
look at it as just a minor setback. We should still be able to travel in
September, and will be able to attend the fall convention.
